Chobham Equestrian Centre is set in the heart of Chobham Village, with brilliant bridle paths and the stunning Chobham Common only 15 minutes away, it is the perfect place to learn to ride, receive training to competition level or brush up on skills you already have. As well as the riding school, we run a friendly livery yard and have brilliant packages to suit each individuals needs.
With our huge indoor arena and outdoor menage, we are able to offer lessons, clinics and regular shows as well as being a Pony Club Centre.
Chobham Equestrian Centre is run by Gerri Summers who has 25 years experience in the equine industry. From starting to ride at the young age of 6, Gerri then went on to join the Pony Club and gained her Pony Club B test, As she grew into a teenager Gerri then decided that being with horses was what she wanted to do forever. She went on to college where she studied Equine management and gained a foundation degree. After managing a yard in the UK, she decided to move to Ireland and worked as a yard manager at a massive equestrian centre with over 270 horses!! She managed the yard and gained training from International Show Jumper who represented Ireland in the World Equestrian Games. It was after this that Gerri decided that she wanted to return to the UK and set up her own business. Gerri has been teaching now for 17 years and has recently turned her hand to coaching and completed her UKCC 2. She is planning to take her UKCC 3 this year and focus on coaching dressage enthusiasts. Gerri will of course still offer traditional instructing and is very happy to teach anyone from beginners to advanced clients as well as those with learning difficulties.
CEC has many BIG plans for the future, including opening as an RDA centre (riding for the disabled), so please watch this space!!!
